MassMutual is a mutual company, specializing in life insurance, health insurance, retirement planning, annuities, long term care, college planning and offers other various financial services. With the extensive information held within the business, it is crucial to stay organized and look for ways to improve efficiency. Before our project, they used insufficient ways to organize activities, and mostly used paper for applications and organization. We propose a database system that will create value by better organizing and classifying activities.
Our goal is to create a reward system based on the database that we create, that will foster a competitive environment to motivate employees to be productive. Based on employees' overall performance, we will determine the employees that need additional training, and employees achieving above and beyond. If we can cut the training budget by identifying specific employees that need training, rather than every employee, we will save thousands of dollars each year. With a portion of that extra money, we can offer incentives to employees achieving above and beyond. With more incentives, employees will be motivated to achieve higher, and will perhaps be more competitive with their coworkers.
